Brief history

Η εταιρία μας ιδρύθηκε το 1999 σε μια εποχή που τα διατροφικά σκάνδαλα (τρελές αγελάδες, διοξίνες κ.λ.π.) συγκλόνιζαν τους καταναλωτές στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση και στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες της Αμερικής. Τα δεινά που συσσώρευσε η εντατικοποίηση της συμβατικής γεωργίας έδωσαν την αφορμή για την δημιουργία της επιχείρησης μας που στόχος της είναι η αρμονική σχέση μεταξύ ανθρώπου και περιβάλλοντος. Είναι για μια οικογενειακή επιχείρηση που αποτελείται από 4 γιατρούς, 2 μηχανικούς και 1 καθηγητή.

Our family holds both the scientific knowledge on nutritional problems and the professional experience which is needed for the production of qualitative and healthy food. Our origin from Thassos island, Northern Greece, has influenced our decision to produce olive oil and associated products, such as olive paste, edible olives, soap etc., all of which derive from organic and conventional farming but in any case, not intensified.

CEO of the company is cardiologist Dr Argiris Tyrologos. His professional experience and his knowledge regarding the beneficial properties of olive oil for the heart served as an inspiration for the creation of the company.

Βασικό αντικείμενο της VIELTHA είναι η παραγωγή ελαιολάδου βιολογικής καλλιέργειας με την ονομασία “Cardiofilo“. Πρόκειται για εξαιρετικό παρθένο ελαιόλαδο από βιολογικά καλλιεργούμενους ελαιώνες. Επίσης, παράγουμε και εξαιρετικό παρθένο ελαιόλαδο συμβατικής καλλιέργειας με χρυσαφένιο χρώμα και την ονομασία «Chrysolado». Και τα δυο ελαιόλαδα είναι αρίστης ποιότητας.

Η Βιελθα έχει την έδρα της στον Πρίνο Θάσου. Οι εγκαταστάσεις της εκτείνονται σε 12 στρέμματα που περιλαμβάνουν το ελαιοτριβείο, το συσκευαστήριο, την μονάδα παραγωγής βρώσιμης ελιάς, τις αποθήκες, το χώρο επεξεργασίας του πυρήνα, το μουσείο Ελιάς και Ελαιολάδου και την έκθεση των ποικιλιών της Ελιάς.

Για το έτος 2017 η εταιρία μας βραβεύτηκε με το Χάλκινο Βραβείο Γεύσης Ελληνικών Επιτραπέζιων Ελιών του Ευρωπαϊκού Οργανισμού Στρατηγικού Σχεδιασμού (ΕΟΣΣ)

Olive Plantations

Η εταιρεία διαθέτει σε δικά της κτήματα περίπου 3.000 ελαιόδεντρα από τα οποία παράγονται περίπου 20.000 λίτρα ελαιόλαδο.

The total number of olive trees which provide olives for Cardiofilo and Chrysolado are located on the island of Thasos and most of them grow in the western part of the island which boasts the highest production per tree.

Work on the plantations and the trees is supervised by an agronomist and we pay special attention to the environmental factor when we execute large scale projects.

VIELTHA always ensures that the cultivation method is in accordance with the European Union regulations regarding organic farming. Furthermore, we have signed special contracts with individual farmers who are clients of VI.EL.THA., and we make sure that their cultivation method is guided and supervised by us.
